MEET ; JAMIE - LEE RICHARDS , CEO/FOUNDER OF BLACK GIRL MAGIC JA (MAKE UP ARTISTRY)

                      Professional make up artist Jamie - Lee Richards developed her passion for makeup in 2010. When speaking with her, she reflected on looking back at old photos and thought about how cute she thought she was 😊. She's a beautiful woman I must say. As years gone by, she took to the makeup industry doing makeup for weddings, small functions etc. She didn't consider herself as a professional until late May 2017, after finishing a Professional Makeup Artistry course at the D'Marie Institute and establishing her business "Black Girl Magic Ja". 

Now that her professional journey has begun, she's been booked for to do makeup for photoshoots, video shoots, fashion shows, you name it, she might have accomplished this in the shortest possible time 🍻cheers to that.

1.) BGM is an amazing MUA, she has a very commendable way to make her canvases feel trustworthy of her expertise and comfortable in her profession. While some MUAs would just go ahead of themselves and apply makeup to their clients because they are dubbed “the best MUA”, she is indeed the whole package, which includes her doing a face to face and verbal questionnaire with her clients about the status of their skin and finding out their skincare regimen. She also, in a very quick snip of time, examines her client's faces based on what they ask for or the idea she has in mind. She is fierce with colour and her brush touches are subtle. She recommends products upon request or if needed but overall, being very professional and kind. My favour part of having her do my makeup is the way she steps back before and after applying makeup and saying ‘You are beautiful”, now that would make anyone’s day. - Chantal
