J.F.F PRESIDENT "CAPTAIN HORACE BURREL" DIES AT AGE 67


Captain Horace Burrell, the president of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), has died. Our news team have come to understand he was battling cancer in 2016. Burrell, under whose leadership the Reggae Boyz qualified for the 1998 World Cup in France, was 67. Burrell is a retired Jamaica Defence Force captain.
Leader of the Opposition Dr Peter Phillips said he is saddened by the loss of Burrell. Dr Phillips said Jamaica will always remain grateful to Captain Burrell who, as the head of the Jamaica Football Federation, believed in the potential of our national players and took Jamaica’s game to the global playing field.
