FIRE AT TOWER STREET CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

Firefighters are currently battling a blaze at the Tower Street Adult Correctional facility in Downtown, Kingston.

According to reports, the fire which began shortly after noon is contained to the George Davis Centre, a section that houses the mentally ill.

The inmates are said to be relocated to an unaffected area of the prison.
Our news team are unaware of any injuries and the damages this may have caused at this time.

This is the correctional facility which Dancehall recording artist "Vybz Kartel" is currently serving his life sentence for the murder of "Clive Lizard Williams" there is no information at the moment if he was  hurt during the activities of the fire as we believe it is also unlikely according to the section of the prison it occurred.
